Taddy Blazusiak

Taddy Blazusiak will today fulfil a lifelong dream as the five-time Erzberg and US Endurocross series winner takes to the start of Baja Poland 2014, round eight of the prestigious FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup, based in Szczecin, north west Poland.

Competing in the gruelling three-day event alongside 112 other competitors split among the car, bike, quad and truck classes, Taddy will make his four-wheel rally debut behind the wheel of a 5000cc, V8 350HP, ORLEN Team Overdrive Toyota Hilux.

Taking full advantage of a break in his US Endurocross schedule Blazusiak is under no illusions that he faces an extremely steep learning curve during the event, but is nevertheless ready to take up the challenge. Alongside Taddy will be Frenchman Edouard Boulanger as the pair compete in the T1.1 category against 37 other vehicles, including Dakar frontrunner Nasser Al-Attiyah.

Taddy Blazusiak: “I have to start by saying a huge thank you to ORLEN for giving me this incredible opportunity. I’ve experienced a rally on two wheels before, but this will be a completely new experience for me – I can’t wait. Cars have been a passion of mine for many, many years so to be racing in an official ORLEN Team Overdrive Toyota Hilux is just amazing. And to be racing it here in Poland just makes it even better. There is so much for me to learn, but by jumping in at the deep end I hope to learn all I can. I’d love to be able to compete in more events on four wheels in the future, so this is an important first step towards learning more about rally racing.”
